Squamish Minor Hockey Association is pleased to introduce our Technical Director of Hockey, Jordan McCarl. Jordan, along with a talented team of coaches, will work with the SMHA Board of Directors to deliver a comprehensive Player & Coach Development Program to our members.

Jordan will be helping to shape the future of our association, while developing a strong, sustainable hockey program that harnesses potential of players and coaches at all levels of play.

Jordan has been a skills development and team coach with Squamish Minor Hockey Association for a number of years. He is a Registered Kinesiologist and Cognitive Facilitator with Sea to Sky Sports Physio, and specializes in strength and conditioning. Jordan holds an Honours Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from McMaster University, and played four seasons of junior level hockey with Stayner Siskins, Caledonia Corvairs, and Grimsby Peach Kings while completing his university degree. Jordan most recently served as an Assistant Coach for the North Vancouver Wolf Pack Junior B team, Head Coach for the Sea to Sky Bears U15 A1 team, while also instructing at various skills development programs in the Sea to Sky corridor.

Jordan became involved in coaching and development immediately after he finished playing, and is motivated by sharing his passion for the game of hockey with younger players. Growing up in a smaller hockey association, Jordan understands the value and importance of skill development at all ages, but also believes the environment should always promote enjoyment of the game through creativity and play.
